This is the 5th year on attempt to deciphering the future, based on past observations and current state of affairs globally. My personal lens is focused on Technology, Economy and Governance. These yearly article series help me understand my own cognitive neurological understanding or biases and learn from them, one could say my personal Large Language Model.
Predicting the future is a risky endeavour but almost all our lives depend on forward expectations and hope.
The previous years’ articles can be found here.
- High Growth year “not” for traditional Startups, but Artificial Intelligence based Bots, Agents and Language models.
- SaaS companies will have to adapt & automate rapidly or start becoming terminally ill.
- Rampant misinformation and disinformation across the spectrum, globally. Anyone with sizeable social megaphone will amplify personal agenda.
- US economy will grow faster than any other G7 nation, possibly even across the OECD.
- UK economy is likely to shrink this year, while new government experiments new levers of growth.
- There’s nothing artificial about AI. Some may remember “Deep Blue” that took 11 years from concept to beating the reigning World Chess Champion – The pace now is 10x, meaning it will take similar magnitude super intelligence development less than 1 year.
- With a more polarised world, expect a high growth in localised versions of established technology products in various clusters of geography around the world. We will see market share rationalise across MENA & elsewhere.
- Remote working will continue to grow and this in turn will fuel Travel industry. Budget Travel and EcoTourism will continue to grow.
- Wealth Gap continues to increase. Arrival of internet was supposed to be an equaliser of information and knowledge, AI is supposed to do the same. The conflict however always remains where bad actors become the early adopters and good actors do the chase.
- AI Agents talking to other AI agents – task done.
- A global alliance of developing nations is likely to emerge and move towards non-reliance on global development funds.
